The Cards: Update

I posted recently about mastering "The Cards" and thought I would write an update about how that is going.

First, it is going about like I expected. The person I hoped would latch onto the idea, well, he does not have any interest in using the method. The person I knew would LOVE it, has adopted The Cards for her college studies.

Christian's opinion...thumbs down.

Marlayna's opinion...thumbs up.

I am also using The Cards in the way I posted about by utilizing The New Dictionary of Cultural Literacy: What Every American Needs to Know. I am almost through writing up cards for American History before 1860.

It is a long process, one which I am not very good at since it involves mastering memorization. However, I am almost through writing up the cards for that section and read through them about once a week.

My review of using this method so far is mixed. The very person I hoped it would help the most, has no desire to use the method.

*sigh*

It seems I am back to searching for inspiring methods to help my son be more engaged in learning in new ways.
